Last week’s Chanel Metiers d’Art show, a wild west-themed show, brought not only amazing couture outfits but also brought back our beloved hair bows. Though people claim Gaga brought these back in 2011, these are a completely different class of hair bows. Whereas Gaga’s were a bit more cartoonish and exaggerated, the hairstylist for the recent Chanel show, Sam McKnight, explains his vision was more of a sexy addition to already gorgeous tresses. Prior to the show he styled the bows using fake hair that would match each models hair color precisely and then attached them before they strut down the runway. This is a reoccurring fashion obsession, seeing as even Chanel has used it before in a more Gaga-esque way, but this is definitely coming back. The 90′s saw this hair style often, beginning with actual bows and then modernizing it with the idea of using actual hair as bows.
This is definitely going to be in my hair repertoire for the month of December and in case you need some help you can use this tutorial to aid you in becoming sexy and fashionable. Happy hairstyling!
